Start with the cabinet’s own rules. Each payline is read from the first reel toward the fifth. Use the displayed controls as your reference. A leading group of Wilds can fit more than one paying symbol. The engine compares the credit values of those possible interpretations, including the Wild multiplier, and keeps the largest. It does not add several interpretations of the same line together. Understand a mixed example

Use the displayed controls as your reference. A line beginning with cherry, Wild and cherry contains a three-position cherry match unless further symbols extend it. Because Wild is inside that match, the applicable cherry award is doubled. The presence of Wild does not allow the matching run to skip an unrelated symbol.
